Autism Services has many events planned for 2016’s Autism Awareness Month.
We invite you to support the following vendors who are promoting autism awareness
as well as donating some of their profits to ASI’s programs.

April 2Sibling Education Program – ASI’s Clinical Department Staff will present the video “Understanding Brothers and Sisters on the Autism Spectrum” by Coulter Video. The video will be followed by a question/answer period facilitated by our clinical staff, as well as networking opportunities for families. This presentation is designed for siblings ages 7-12 years old. No charge, but registration is required.

April 4-28Art Exhibit – American Music – Opening Reception April 12 at 12 pm – featuring No Words Spoken performance. Visit WNED’s Horizon Gallery (140 Lower Terrace in Buffalo) to view our American Music exhibit, featuring paintings inspired by Jazz and Blues by the artists of Autism Services. More details here.

April 9Autism is Treatable! A Biomedical Approach featuring Dr. James Adams. This workshop is co-sponsored with the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Western New York (SHAWNY) and Learning Partners, and will provide an overview of what we now know about autism, including the role of genetics and possible environmental causes. Dr. Adams will discuss dietary, nutritional, and medical treatment options that have a published research basis. More information here.

April 15ASI Human Resources will be at the Boulevard Mall from 1:00-4:00 for recruitment. They will hand out autism facts and sell autism bracelets.

April 20 – Autism 101 Workshop at the ASI Resource Center, 97 Main Street, Hamburg, NY. 6-8 pm. We’ll explore the communication and social needs of people on the Autism Spectrum. This workshop can be applied to a wide range of professionals and/or parents to address the characteristics of Autism and strategies for working with this wonderful population in a multitude of settings. FREE and open to the public.

April 22 – Day of SHAring. ASI’s Marketing/Fundraising Department will host volunteers from Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart as they work to beautify the grounds of our main office location.

April 23Tea for ASD – Classics V Conference and Banquet Center, Amherst, NY. 9:30a-1pm. Buy tickets here.

April 23VanGogh on the Rocks – The Nursing Department and Day Program Department will be presenting two sessions of wine and paint at VanGogh On The Rocks on Main St in Clarence. The cost of $40 covers your paints, canvas, painting lesson by our agency’s very own Raisa Aspaas, as well as food and drinks. $10 from every painter will be donated back to Autism Services. April 26ASI staff will be selling Kids Days newspapers with autism awareness fact sheets. Proceeds will benefit Women and Children’s Hospital.
