Parent Support Group
This group is meant to provide parents of children on the autism spectrum with an opportunity to support one another and to share concerns as well as resources. A facilitator will be present at each group. It is held monthly at the Autism Services, Inc. Resource Center in Hamburg. Click here for dates and topics.
Sensory Friendly Films at Maple Ridge 8
In partnership with The Autism Society, AMC Maple Ridge 8 theaters offers Sensory Friendly Films to families affected by autism. The program provides a special opportunity for families to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing! Click here for movies, dates and times.
We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym
A place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kid’s gym that offers an all-inclusive philosophy they found all children can benefit from the uniquely designed sensory equipment that is specifically designed to aid children with sensory processing disorders. However, all children are able to benefit greatly from this equipment and by allowing children of all ability levels to play together they are able to learn a great deal from each other and become the best motivation for success on every level. Rolly Pollies Presents Special Needs at Play (SN@P)
An open play time dedicated to children with special needs and their families. Enjoy open play and fun in a relaxed and supportive environment. Sensational Fun Hosts Weekly Teen Night
Every Thursday from 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm, bring your teenage son or daughter for an hour of “just teens social hour.” Let them hang out with peers and enjoy open play at their leisure. $9.00 per person. Click here for the Sensational Fun website.
An open recreational swimming program for anyone with a physical, cognitive and/or developmental disability. Program runs October 12, 2016 – March 22, 2017 on Wednesdays from 7pm-9pm. Held at Frontier High School (4432 Bayview Road, Hamburg). $15.00 per person. Register at the Hamburg Recreation Office (4540 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg; Enter at door 9). Town of Hamburg lifeguards are on hand for general pool supervision.
Au-Some Evenings at Explore & More
Through generous community support, these special evenings give children with Autism Spectrum Disorders an opportunity to play and learn together in an understanding and supportive environment free of charge. Sensational Fun Activity Center
Sensational Fun, Inc. is a multisensory activity center designed for children with special needs and their families to enjoy. Sensational Fun Hosts Spiritual Sundays

Sensory Sundays at Sky Zone
Every Sunday from 9-11am, families with autism and sensory challenges can jump and have fun together in a relaxed and supportive environment during Sensory Sundays at Sky Zone. Monthly parent group for parents of children with autism spectrum disorders. Provides a welcoming environment for parents and other caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorders to meet, share experiences, ask questions and receive support.
